Correspondence and printed material acquired by Pestell during his time at Government House in Salisbury. Many are on the theme of resistance to the Smith regime. They include speeches, reports, articles, two issues of the student paper 'Black and White' and Centre Party leaflets. Six items are undated.The material relates almost entirely to the period between 1965 and 1969 concerning the events of the Rhodesian Declaration of Independence and its effects while Pestell worked in the Government House in Salisbury.

Paintings, sketches and linocuts by Nigerian artists and school children, 1937-1953As Inspector of Education, Duckworth collected and kept much from his time there in 1930 to 1953. Many of these pictures were reproduced in Nigeria and there are some proofs and pages from the magazine. The art work includes 23 paintings by E. Okaybulu showing African ceremonies, dances and other activities, some with descriptive notes and stories written on the back.
