La Puissance du Verbe' - The Power of the Word - was a two-day colloquium of events, discussions and music at Churchill to celebrate and discuss Afro-Caribbean, French and English. The Colloquium was held 17-18 Nov 2000, and included 'Chaka', an opera composed by Akin Euba and performed on 17 Nov 2000. Participants included Wole Soyinka (Nobel Laureate, human rights activist and overseas fellow of Churchill 1973-74).
