Field recordings of dance music, rice cultivation songs, songs sung by Bambara, Kai, Peul, Sisoks, and Sonrai people; Ballet Africa; a marriage procession; Sonrai songs; natural sounds; Tamasheq speech; instrumental music; Tuareg performances; Tharef music; and other music and speech recorded by Halim el-Dabh in the summer of 1967 in Ségou, Bamako, and Tombouctou, Mali; and Dakar, Senegal. The collection includes a recording log (2 leaves) compiled from contents on original tape boxes.
